I was invited onto the “English Across The Pond” Podcast

Hi podcast people,

I was recently invited to appear on another podcast for learners of English, called English Across The Pond presented by Dan (UK) and Jennifer (USA).

You can listen to the episode below and check out their website at www.englishacrossthepond.com

Dan and Jen produce quite a lot of extra material to help you learn English from their episodes. Check out this link where you can get a vocabulary list, comprehension questions or just download the full episode guide from their website.

Dan and Jen are really friendly and both have lots of English teaching experience. You might enjoy listening to their podcast too.

Cheers!

Luke

That was a very nice chat. I left a comment on their page too. It was very interesting to hear this one after the one you did with Amber about British humour, made for a great contrast.

    • Cat

Yes, the three are unique (Amber and Paul + Luke)! :)

  • Jack

@teacherlukepod:disqus King, This is my attempt at a Cockney accent.

    • Good job Jack – also, good choice with another clip from Armando Iannuci’s show!

      • Jack

        Thanks King :)

        Was it convincing ?

      • Cat

Jack, I think, it was convincing. Luke has high opinion of your language skills (so I’m not alone in this assessment of your level ;) — just listen to what he said about you in the David Crystal Part II episode. :)

      @catherinebear:disqus @disqus_aeB8Hzs8KL:disqus

Have you guys listened my second audio recording ?

      • Cat

        What? :)
        I don’t understand you, Jack. :))

      • Jack

Catherine first listen to the YouTube video in the post above :)

    • euoamo

You did another recording! It seems that you are into recording your own voice now! That’s a good way to improve your pronunciation.

      • Jack

        Thanks Euoamo. :)

      • Cat

Hi Euoamo, how are you? Everything fine? :)
How do you improve your pronunciation? Recording yourself and listening back, seeing the sounds that need improvement can be really helpful. Do you want to share with us a sample of your recording? 1 – 2 minutes would be fine. You could just read something, if you struggle with rambling at the moment. ;)
That would be great! Thank you!

Thank you, Luke! Your Podcast is great, helpful and also you have excellent sense of humour! I’ve been listening to your podcast since March 2017, and now my listening skills have improved a lot. I can’t say so about my grammar though, but I think it’s a matter of time. I also have visited www.audibletrial.com/teacherluke and got my free audiobook as well :)

  • Cat

    Lepsters,
I wonder whether you knew about Dan’s and Jen’s podcast already? It was my first time to hear from them. As a true lepster (one of whose values is curiousity), I naturally checked out their website and left a short comment there on Luke’s episode (I was only one to do so so far). Maybe you want to live a comment there too, to show the authors that Luke has his own fellowship. ;)
What I found noticable is they have a “Member area”. Have you any idea what it might be? Maybe they have a paid area or something with extra content… I don’t know. Anyway, do you think, it is something for Luke too? Thanks for your replies. ;))

    • Nick

I think you’re right about a “Member area”, even though I haven’t seen the site.

      • Cat

Nick, what do you think of the idea of a “Member area” on Luke’s website? What could such an area offer for us? Or are we just fine with the comments section? What do you think? :)

      • Nick

I thought he wanted to publish his Business course in some private (member) area of the site…

    • Ethan

Let’s show them what LEP fandom is capable of! :)
But I don’t want to “live” a comment there cuz I got my own place to live :p

      • Cat

        Oh… :)))
Sometimes I think that I lead a parallel life (in a person of a cat), living in the LEP comments section… :))

      • Ethan

        Check out ur comment above.
Especially the part where u mention commenting on EATP websit :)

      • Cat

        Yes, I’ve seen that I dropped a letter there…. :))
Looks more funny this way. Thank you for pointing it out! ;))

  • Cat

Let’s unlock our inner idiots, with Luke’s English Podcast! :))
With hard work, motivation, and practising night and day! :)
(this is my take-away from this episode).
Thank you Luke, and thank you, Dan and Jen!!!

  • Cat

    – Can one learn humour?
    (my favourite question by Jen)

  • Rash

    nice

  • GUIDO DEMURTAS

Hi Luke! Thank you again for your precious job. We can’t download this episode, can we?

    • Yes, you can. There’s a download button in the top right corner of the media player.

      • GUIDO DEMURTAS

Finally I managed to do it, after a million of tries in which it kept opening the play store to download an application. Thank you!
