  • Agnes
    • Marta KL

Looks great, Agnes, thanks for sharing! It´s also a good stretching for my neck! :)))

      • Nick
      • Marta KL

lol Nick, thanks! The left side needs to be stretched as well! :-D

      • Nick

Ask Agnes about another pic :))

      • Marta KL

No problem now! Both sides are fully stretched :)

      • Agnes

is that reply on my pic? ha ha sorry….

      • Nick

Don’t be sorry, Agnes. Your pic improved our mood and our neck.

      • Agnes

        I hope, I hope…

      • Eri
      • Nick

Two bright candles in the dark… a nightmare for mice :)

      • Eri

        Under a bed…
Unfortunately, I never find any mice in my place and she never gave a present for me which I used to get from a cat who had lived with my family when I was in my parents place.

      • Nick

My cat used to bring mice under my bed in the middle of the night.

      • Nick

And I used to hear a strange sound of cracking little bones.

      • Agnes

scary… Nick. My cats usually give me mice on my terrace, they usually are dead already.

      • Nick

Your cat doesn’t eat them? I guess your cat just wants to show you what an excellent hunter he or she is.

      • Agnes

that’s right, she gives mi mice to show her gratefulness for feeding her daily. She sometimes leaves birds.

      • Eri

She used to show mice to have praise.
And then, she used to bring mice to her secret place…

      • Agnes

Is he sitting in the drawer? funny one

      • Eri

She is under a bed in the box there I keep some books in.
She likes to go there or in the cardboard box…

      • Cat

        Cute! :)

      • Nick

I can’t imagine why this cat did this….

      • Agnes

        Thanks Marta

I see my picture came improperly, wrr hate my phone… sorry…ha ha

ps. there are my daughter who won today’s race and my dog that accompanied me along the way.

        have nice day as well

        cheers

      • Ptholome

In my iPad, when I upload a picture here, it appears up down. Why? and even if I turn the picture on the iPad it appears up down again. ????

      • Agnes

there is one answer – terrible digital devices:-)

      • Ptholome

        Yes.

      • Ptholome

In fact, you should take the same picture turning your iPhone. Later you upload them here and you will see which of them is OK. And you must take the next picture with your iPhone on the right position.

    • Ethanwlee

Love ur pic Agnes! Pls keep shooting!! ;)

      • Agnes

        I will!

    • Eri

Did you have a nice run??
I hate runnning long distance… but when I see your photos, I feel that I may be able to make it within that beautiful places.

      • Nick

Yes, this long straight road is welcoming to run as much as one can.

      • Ptholome

        Who is riding a bicycle?

      • Agnes

My younger daughter:-)))) She was faster than me, ha ha. Surely she was on the winning position.

      • Agnes

        Hi Eri,

yes, I had a nice run yesterday, thanks, the environment where I run is brilliant so it allows me enjoying it fully. I always feel a fulfillment afterward despite that I’m not a long distance runner.

I’m sure Eri that you will find some place to run, I know that not everyone likes running, I didn’t like either in the past, but I found out it enjoyable.

        so, good luck
        best

      • Eri

How do you find that running is fun?
I used to run when I was a school student and I hated it and still hate running…

      • Agnes

I used to hate running in the past, I would rather go to the gym and workout there, but last days, this place become dirty and no one took care of it and I decided to try running and I loved it! It was breakthrough and now I enjoy every step:-))

    • Ptholome
      • Cat

        Beautiful! :)

      • Agnes

Thanks Antonio! you are the master!

    Hi Spanish LEPSTER,s!!!

How is it going? I hope you’re doing well. I’d like to create a little spanish LEPSTERS corner, here at the comment section. Since I’ve been following this hugely useful podcast since 2012, I’m glad to see how Spanish LEPSTERS community has been growing here at Luke’s English Podcast. First of all, I really apreciate Luke’s work, also I think that LEPSTERS collaboration here in the podcast is totally amazing!!! Don’t be modest LEPSTERS community, you’re the best heroes on the world!!! Your work is always avoiding me to be boring and I’m quite sure that’s the same for everybody out there.

    Luke…Thanks!!!

I had a nice day with some of my colleagues in Arashiyama, Kyoto.
We went to recreation trip from my work!!
Tenryuji Temple has a special garden which opens twice a year and it is the time for us to see the garden.
It is small but very calm and quiet peaceful place to visit. uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c7cc697079989ffdebe482fb0bfce9de46654f41a66e4f9e39d53de402d279af.jpg uploads.disquscdn.com/images/b32c6876013923e1d93a85562a580e10b983bd9100d08c4aaa16cd9d319e71b6.jpg uploads.disquscdn.com/images/1ecde297fc77edc6771c0913d774910e681d186e15d6dc15bc8eebedb33ba0a7.jpg

      • Nick

        Twice a year?! Not much.

      • Eri

        Yes, spring and autumn.
When its garden is really beautiful.

      • Marta KL

oh I definitely need to visit Japan, Eri!!

      • Eri

I think Kyoto is a great place to visit and I sometime go temples and shrines in Kyoto.
Let’s go to some of my favorite places there, shall we???

      • Marta KL

I´d love to! Must be amazing :)
your pics make me feel like I already have been there! :)
        (not in this life obviously)

      • Cat

        Yes, we shall! :))

      • Eri

I may plan a few days trip to Kyoto, Kobe and Osaka for LEP stArs.

      • Nick

        It’s like another planet!

      • Marta KL

One more reason to go for it! :)))

      • Eri

        It is on the earth!!

      • Nick

It’s cool that on the Earth we have such different places!

      • Jack

        Lovely lovely pics Eri
        Many thanks for sharing
        Japan is extremely beautiful

      • Eri

        Thank you, Jack.
I like taking photos with my camera and iPhone.
I know everywhere on the earth have its own unique beautiful place and I am deeply aapprecite how you feel about Japan.

      • Jack

Keep sharing beautiful pics of Japan Eri. We r lucky to have you here :)

      • Cat

        Dancing trees! :)
Why are they growing this way, Eri?

      • Eri

I saw a TV show abot Bonsai and in that show, I shaw how they bend trees to express Japanese unique wabi-sabi and grace.
I think its concept is similar and to make a good looking garden, it might be bended. uploads.disquscdn.com/images/678afcbf273f34bcd2674a4649b90f9e67f2452749d9ce885749a792a1c5fa61.jpg

      • Cat

Ikebana = I can bend (or ban?) a tree :)

  • Jack

Teacher Andy is back, Prince Andy is back, Superstar Andy has come back to the comments section.

@disqus_JVe4EOLwB7:disqus Prince when is you gonna be back on the podcast ? You know Prince, King has deleted my beautiful cake pic and angry grandpa fart video that I shared here. Now I want revenge, I is openly rooting for you in a one on one no holds barred match.

  • Eri

Just because all comment sections are going very fast and I am not able to catch up…
I wish i could have great reading skill in English…
Poor ERI and her English skill…

    • Oh you’re not that bad Eri!

      • Eri

        Thanks, Luke.
Just because I found your podcast 2 years ago.
And I did not take any lessons on skype if you did not mention about italki and never find a good native teacher.
        I always thank you!!!
        Also thank your new microphone!!!

    • Cat

Sorry, Eri, I’m going to post less, just for you! :))

      • Nick

        Yeah, me too :))

      • Eri

        It’s OK, Nick.
Just do what you want to do.
Someday, I will be able to follow everything easily

      • Eri

Thank you Cat, very kind of you.
But it is not your problem… only mine.
So to be able to follow all comments here, I need more reading… which I do not like…
I will try it, bit by bit.

      • Cat

Eri, it’s like building muscles. You see, your patients there, who come to train their legs and arms — it’s the same practice. They need to do their exercises, don’t they? Bit by bit, but regularly. It is the same with reading. Read a bit each day. Try and read each day a bit more than the previous day, just a few sentences more. Choose a topic which you love. Read loud aloud for yourself, so you can practice your intonation and pronunciation along the way. Act a little bit. Don’t be shy. So you can build your articulation muscles as well (which are real ones). :))

Each day your reading and speaking muscles will get stronger and stronger!

If you have read this to the end — well done! :) But get genuine and good English texts. Our posts here are good, but we are not native speakers. Ask Luke something, he usually responds quite quickly. You can also read his notes on each episodes pages which he so carefully and thoughtfully prepares for us each time. Read his texts on the episodes about his Japanese travels, I’m sure you’ll love it and learn a lot!

So, enjoy your reading and build strong muscles each day! :)

      • Eri

Thank you Cat and I read all (*^^)v
I have got Practical Everyday English to build my vocab. and also read something which is useful and nice…
        But I only read a few pages…
And I do not often read Luke’s notes in this HP.
I just finished reading Japanese novel today and I will read some thing in English when I am on a train…
Do need to continue… it can be our fortune.

  • Jack

    rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuuuuukkkkkkkkkeeeeee

    • Eri

      Are you Japanese??? Jack?
I try not to sound Ruke or EngRish…

    • Ethanwlee

I was wondering exactly the same :)

  • Jack

Ma Bredren @catherinebear:disqus @disqus_aeB8Hzs8KL:disqus Where is you guys ?

    • Nick

      • Jack

  • Yuriy

Thank you for good advice to look film “Touching the void”. I have never seen this film before. It creates strong emotions.

  • Orion team

Hi, people, we have started a new episode

444 The Rick Thompson report: elections 2017

    docs.google.com/document/d/189bTi_KrEzXyb-xrGGn3iyT17OYXQw9BZQs7asZUt8g/edit?usp=sharing

Looking forward seeing a lot of you transcribing this episode.

    • Ptholome

One more thing, if you click on the link above, don’t forget to click on the rules link which is under the doc title.
I’ve noticed several LEPsters going in there and transcribing without reading the rules so they are wasting my time correcting errors they would avoid if they’d taken a few minutes reading them.
And, please, don’t be upset when I tell you to read these rules. And don’t go away because that. We are a team and must work as a team.

One last thing: If you are one of these people wanting to do a full episode alone. Tell me and we will do it. But I suggest you to transcribe several chunks with the team before to start an episode 80 to 90 minutes long. Only a few people did it in our team and went away or never finished. but there are two people who did it and are still with us.

Personally, I can’t do it but I’ve participated in 83 episodes. So, instead to work alone transcribing 30 chunks of an episode 90 min long, you can transcribe 2 chunks on 15 episodes with our team. One chunk 3 min long every week is easy, isn’t it?
Thanks people for helping making this podcast more and more joyful.
