Hi everyone, I was wondering whether there are any bloggers here in the community? I started a blog at the end of March this year, and the language used is english. It would be nice to share some experiences with other bloggers :)

    • Cat

Isabelle, daav was speaking of his goal of starting to write a blog the other day (check the comment section of the ep 450). I don’t remember anybody else…

      • Isabelle

Hi Cat, thanks so much for taking time to reply my question! I’ll check the comment section of the episode 450. As mentioned, I’ve started a blog recently to share some thoughts, experiences and ideas with my friends and others who might have similar interests. It’s also a way to practise English. You may take a look of it if you’re interested. The website is isabellepan@wordpress.com. Have a lovely Sunday!

      • Cat

Good morning, bella Isabella! (if I may) :))
I took a look into your blog: isabellepan.wordpress.com/author/isabellepan/
        First impression: WOW!!!!! :))
I love it!!! I’m sure many lepsters will join in and follow your progress in blogging! Talents opening up each new day. Incredible! :))

So you live in Oslo then? I’m eager to read your thoughts and see the lovely pictures. Thank you for sharing!
Have a lovely weekend and get some new inspiration! :)

      • Isabelle

Hi again Cat, thanks for your lovely comment and encouragement! I’m quite new to the blog world, and English is not my first language and therefore, I’m not always certain wheather the content or the language is good enough. Yes I live in Oslo in Norway. I’ll be writing a recent trip in a place called “Geilo” in my next blog post. Geilo is a place wellknown for winter activities in Norway :)

      • Cat

        Lovely! :))

      • Cat

Isabelle, I like your writing style and your thoughts and your Yoga bridge picture just killed me! ;))

      • Isabelle

Thanks Cat! I’m new to yoga, the bridge post is a challenging one as I have an old back injury. I failed so many times and I’m pleased that I manage it now, not a perfect one though :)

      • Cat

It looks perfect to me! ;)

    • Nick

I’m a blogger but it’s not in English.

      • Isabelle

Hi Nick, thanks for your reply. What language is it? How long have you been blogging? It would be lovely to hear your experience.

      • Nick

It’s in Russian and it’s about programming. This thing has been happening for several years now. Well, not much of a experience :)) I’m writing from time to time, somebody reads this. If you want your blog to be read by many people you should of course promote it everywhere. This place is a good start for that :)

      • Isabelle

Thanks for your reply, Nick! Russian is a fascinating language. I’ve got a friend who’s Russian and she’s settled in Norway. She told me something about the Russian culture and history :)

      • Nick

        What’s your native language Isabelle?

      • Isabelle

Chinese is my mother tongue but I’ve been living in Norway so long I guess Norwegian has become my first language:)

      • Cat

        Wow, that’s a pretty exotic combination! ;)

      • Nick

We have a lot of Chinese students in my Uni now, it’s very interesting for me :)

      • Cat

Wow, Millennial Falcon is full of surprises!!! :)))
May we have the link plz? Wink-wink ;))

      • Nick

Nobody will understand what’s it about because it’s:
        1) in Russian
        2) about programming
        :))

      • Nick
      • Nick

Only Luke can know this information :))

      • Cat

That’s fine, baby, nothing to be afraid of! :))
Mami will be right back and give you a kasha. :))

      • Nick
      • Cat

        Nice haircut! :)

      • Agnes

Nick why are you so afraid of?

      • Cat

We all are afraid of our Brother’s watchful eyes… :))

      • Nick

        Agree :))

      • Nick

I’m not afraid I just don’t know why I should public the link here, it’s not in English and it wouldn’t have any use for you guys :)

      • Agnes

        ok, I respect that:-))

      • Cat

Okay, okay, don’t be alarmed! ;))

  • Jack
    • Cat

It’s about time for Jack to start his own blog! ;)
I wonder what it would be about…

      • Nick

Every post is a picture of a crying baby and just one word under it — Kkkkkkkkkkkkkiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg:))
And pictures of cakes of course :))

      • Cat

… and with your comments with another baby pics, of course :))

      • Nick

YES! :P He can’t do it without me! :))

      • Jack

Blogging is tough task Catherine :)

    Hi LEPsters,

I was watching a small interview with David Crystal and thought it’d be good to share it with you. In this video, he talks about subjects like the probably fate of the English language, the influence of the AmE in the British English as well as the different “Englishes” around the world.

I hope you like it :))

      • Jack

Why would he try to bury me Brotha :D ?

      • Nick

To stop you from crying and mumbling about some not-existent gift :))

      • Jack

        :(

My quest of getting the gift from King is on :P

      • Nick

I have no doubt that it’s on ;) Do you want a gift from Amber too?

      • Nick

Or maybe it’s better to have a gift from the three of them (Amber, Luke and Paul)…

      • Jack

I haven`t thought about getting a gift from Amber. I am waiting for her to launch her website and then lets see how things pan out :P

But it is a good proposition :P Thanks for giving me such a brilliant idea Brother :D

      • Nick

Don’t say to Luke that I gave you this idea! :))

      • Jack

Don`t worry, we work as a secret service team ;)

      • Jack

BTW Nick, where is King ?

Hi, Luke! Thanks for your podcast!
It was me who suggested doing an episode about punk music. I’m glad you like the idea! I hope all the other lepsters like it too.
I also look forward to an episode with David Crystal. He visited Saint Petersburg, Russia in 2014 and gave a lecture about English accents! That was amazing! I’m sure it will be as exciting as before!
Thanks for what you do and please keep going!

    • Nick

I’m looking forward to hear an episode about punk music and to listen James’ selection of punk music!
David Crystal visited Russia and guess who’s not! It’s a shame! A big shame! :))

      • Cat

Patience you must have, young padawan. ;)
Don’t show a lack of faith, it could be disturbing for some… :)

      • Nick

    • Eri

      Thanks for the lovely videos.
I loved all of them and while I was watching, my cat was sitting behind and meowed a lot. She also liked them.

  • Rodrigo Gobbi

Hi Luke! I really love your podcast and ever since I discovered it I’ve been listening in a daily basis. Last episode (which was really good) you mentioned that you shall interview professor David Crystal. Could you please ask him to explain a little about the influence of the French language into the English over the years, with examples of real bits of language? I really think it’d be fascinating. Well… I think you understood. Sometimes I wonder if whoever are reading what I wrote have a proper understanding… I always studied on my own and have done almost none of speaking. Anyway… your podcast have helped me a lot. You must be productive always!! This will never overwhelm us. And please, this time don’t forget my name if you decide to read out my comment! You did it in the past! Thanks.

    • Ptholome

The BBC has a great documentary about it. And that’s why I am learning English from French and not from my Spanish mother tongue. Or should I say from my French wife tongue?
