Hey guys how you doing? My weekend was pretty busy, we were on a huge sausage dogs meet up on Saturday (and our Lord was such a good boy, he behaved like a proper English lord as you can see on a pic haha!)
And my daughter had a B-day party on Sunday, so much fun. The house full of teenage girls :-D I can´t help not to share the pic of her cakes (especially for @Jack109:disqus) – one of them was made by myself! (the healtier one of course..)
    Have a nice day!

    • Nick

When I read: “Lord was such a good boy…” I thought it was Lord Lord… :))

      • Marta KL

        Lord Lord? Who is it?

      • Nick

        God! :))

      • Marta KL

        hahahaha I see :))))
Maybe he feels a bit like God, who knows!

      • Nick

He’s surely thinking about something serious (according to that look of his eyes) ;) I hope you gave him a piece of cake?

      • Marta KL

oh no, he got lot of dog treats.. no cake for a little dog.. poor boy :(

      • Nick

        Yes, poor boy :(

      • Cat

        Poor lad… no cakes allowed… :)

    • Jack

This is Awesomeness Marta. Me wants those cakes, me wants those cakes.

And lord the magician behaving like a good boy. :)

Marta the witty LEPster bringing smiles to the comments section.

      Great share, Marta

      • Nick

        Me wants this hat!

      • Jack

        Brotha the magician ? :)

      • Nick

Without that hat — no, with that hat could be….

      • Marta KL

        Thanks Jack!

    • Agnes

yumi yumi such tasty cakes I see here. I suppose the left-one-side is made by yourself:-)
We have one famous bakery in my city which created amazingly beautiful cakes but honestly, I prefer eating homemade cakes, especially for a birthday.

I’d love eating one of them, they look such tasty:-)) Then I would take a run, a long run….. to burn calories…. as I always do…

      thanks for sharing
      best

      • Cat

        Welcome back, Agnes! :)

      • Agnes

        :-)))

      • Agnes

me came out of the woodwork…

    • Cat

Ah, look at this little Lord! I think he is looking at all that sausages and thinking “To eat or not to eat.” ;)
Happy birthday, MD! (= Marta’s Doughter, as we don’t know her name) :))

Lovely cakes, ah… I’d love to try those…

Thanks Marta for sharing! Have a wonderful day!
ps: Have you seen Daav around? Maybe he was on the Dog’s party too… :)

      • Marta KL

        Thanks Cat!
But if Lord would see some sausages to eat he would be more likely like “catch it and swallow it as quickly as possible” in his mind :-D He was absolutely excited of all the bitches (female dogs!!) around him :-))
Ema thanks you for your wishes (her name is written on one of the cakes) :-)))

ps: No Daav on our party I´m afraid :( It looks he hass became a ninja again!

    • Ethan

      Lovely! :)
Thanks for sharing, Marta. Also thank the Lord!

      • Marta KL

        Thank you Ethan, cheers!

    • Nick

Usually it takes 4 days for Luke to publish a new episode, the last one was 3 days ago, so it may happen tomorrow or the next day after that.

      • Cat

We know that Luke would love to post episodes each single day — he has lots of material already (in his pipeline) and really has to constrain himself from posting too much. At least he says so now and then.

    • Nick

Our Ministry of Defense is considering the US strike on the jet SU-22 as an act of aggression… we’re moving to the ‘finale’… that’s what we were talking about with you, Jack.

      • Jack

Brother, I remember something like this happened in 2014-15 as well but it was Obama and cooler heads prevailed, this time you have gunk from the street ruling the most powerful military in the world and I remember this is exactly what Luke was worried about when this idiot got elected.

Banksters are itching for war, I hope it doesn`t happen but if it does I hope and pray that this time around Russia breaks the back of NATO.

      • Nick

Russia is too weak to fight with NATO and Americans know that, so this feeling of being the strongest can lead to heavy mistakes.

      • Jack

I know it does not have the brute strength of American military but any misadventure or chest thumping by the US government – will have to pay the price.

Putin vs that utter imbecile – Putin is miles better.

And also Brother that third and last ruling state has to emerge, its a country whose 90 percent of land is owned by “Private Businesses” just like Federal Reserve. There is nothing Federal about Federal Reserve of America – it is a private bank. LOL.

And you know, chairman of FED is not answerable to the President of the United States. LOL.

      • Nick

I think the US government and the US bankers may pay much smaller price if something happens, because almost all the US military rocket bases located in another countries, so those bases would be the first targets.

      • Jack

Brother, don`t forget Crimea. That was a master stroke by Putin. He took Crimea back and rightfully so because Crimea is Russia. That was first major jolt for the NATO. So, you have got one major naval port.

Banksters are using US to fight for them.

You see the pattern brother = Afghanistan, Iraq (oh my God, Iraq has weapons of mass destruction), Libya and they were licking their lips when Syria was about to crumble but o o wait a minute, Russia intervened and now they are mad about it.

You see brother that small baby country is slowly getting bigger and bigger with illegal settlements while its powerful neighbours are slowly being destroyed. And one day you will hear in the news that ………… has encompassed all the territory from the river Euphrates to the river Nile”

And brother, It will be ruthless control over everything. Future is grim brother.

      • Nick

What small baby country and what powerful neighbours?

      • Jack

Iraq was a regional power, so was Syria at one point. Libya decided it wants to get out of the petrodollar scam and all of a sudden Uncle Sam was like: My God, Libyan people need freedom.
        I won`t name that baby country :)

Brotha, I think we need to stop because I get a feeling that King might be very annoyed with both of us

      • Nick

        I think I know what’s the baby country ;)
Yes, maybe too much of politics here…

      • Jack

That baby country has nuclear weapons and also maintains the largest fleet of F15 and F16 planes outside of the US.

      • Nick

There is only one country with nuclear weapons in that region.

      • ptholome/Antonio

Iran will have it soon too.

      • Nick

        Are you from this country?

      • Jack

        No I am not. :)

OK Brotha, we need to stop this :)

      • ptholome/Antonio

He can’t be from this country seen the his writings. Anyway, The little country is now negotiating with Saudi Arabia to trade with them.

      • Nick

It’s a Mystery of the century — where is he from!

      • ptholome/Antonio

I don’t know and I don’t use to ask people anything. What I know from people is because they speak about and when I am interested in them I keep the information in mind. But I am not curious about this fact.
Nevertheless, I think that now this is becoming a kind of game for him.

Also, it could be that certain countries are not as free as France or Spain, or the EU so people must pay attention to keep been anonym.

      • Nick

I don’t know in what countries people have to hide that they’re visiting English sites, except maybe North Korea.

      • ptholome/Antonio

You know, when you want to stay anonym you must do it on any website and it is not only from countries but also from the companies you could apply one day for a job.

People don’t do that as a game but for reasons. We don’t care here because we are far away from each other and Do we care really for each other?

Next weekend I will have at home a friend, from Germany, he is not German, French or Spanish. I knew him in an English forum and for three years we are having meetings through Skype every Saturday. Do you think I would have invited him if he was anonym? Certainly not. Can we be friends with someone we don’t know? I can’t.
Can we have friends we know only on the internet? I have. but we are not anonyms people, we share our thoughts, pictures, events, souvenirs and speak about our lives dreams. And we show each other that we care… So when you give nothing to others you have nothing from others…

Nevertheless, I find out Jack is a funny guy, if he is a guy, we don’t know even if he is a guy, I think it is. So he is funny and he is a great collaborator on the Transcription collaboration project. And for that I thanks him. For the rest is another matter. But I am not someone looking for friends. Friendship is like love it happens or not.

        Regards :)

      • Nick

Well, these are true thoughts of course… as an example Louis C.K. doesn’t even care about other children who comes to his house :))
        youtu.be/Y_DdXn9RD6Q?t=3867

      • Cat

        Mysteries are fun! ;)

      • ptholome/Antonio

        If you say so…

      • ptholome/Antonio

However it was not the USA but France the country attacking and putting down Gaddafi. What the USA did I mean Obama, was to promote the Arab Spring in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Syria, so know it is a hell and we are going to have the ISIS terrorist attack everywhere for decades.

      • Jack

Yes Sir you r right. From Arab spring to Arab spring………….

Divide and conquer – that’s their policy and has been for the last 200 years

      • Cat

        I’m with Sir Antonio. ;)

      • Cat

Oh, oh… some serious stuff going on on the CS of LEP. :)

      • ptholome/Antonio

        www.msz.gov.pl/en/foreign_policy/nato_2016/nato/history_of_nato/

You know that the Nato was as a way to have a common defense against other’s attacks, not to attack to others countries.
Besides. Russia was ruined because the famous galaxy war Ronald Reagan launched. They knew that Russia couldn’t do it and would be ruined if they tried which was Russian did and caused the End of the Soviet Union.
Russia is still powerful because they have a lot of energy and the atomic bomb and they can spend money on Weapons.
Nevertheless the 2015 Russian income per capita was around $9,000 compared to USA $55,000, UK $44,000, France $36,000, It $30,000, Spain $25,000…
So I believe that Russia must think more on the wealth of their people than on War because nobody is going to attack them. Of course what they did in Ukraine has had bad consequences and it is the population who is paying for it.
I think Putin need to think more on his people than on the old Soviet Union Power. It is not good to live in the past instead to improve the life of people in the present and future… But in Russia there is elections and it is the people who must decide what they want and assume the result.
        Regards.

Dear Lepsters :) I’ve published a new post on my blog. It’s Third-person narrative this time, an attempt to distance myself from the character in the story. It’s her story and it’s my story. You may take a look of it if you’re interested, and feel free to leave a comment :) The website is isabellepan.wordpress.com
(I’m aimed to publish a new post every Monday)
Wishing you all a lovely day!
    Isabelle

    • Cat

      Thanks, Isabelle! Nice posting! :)
(ps: can you set up an editing option for your comments section? I’ve made some mistakes in my language and wanted to correct those — but if not, no problem! :))

      • Isabelle

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Cat! I’ve just replied to it. It seems that I can edit both my own comments and comments I received from others. I’m not sure how to set up an “editing function ” on the comment section for others unfortunately. Have just sent a query about it to WordPress. I think your comment is well written, you made great reflections which I appreciate very much. If you want to edit something, just let me know and I can do it for you in the meantime. I normally receive a reply from WordPress in about three days. Thank you Cat and take care. Isabelle

    I wonder about what pie she’s talking about… :))

  • henrique

Luke, why why why conversation in movie is so different of real life? i talk by skype with native speakers, watch a lot of videos on youtube and understand, but when it comes to movies and series its so hard. it possible someone to be fluent in a language and not understand movies very well?

    • Jack

It is because dialogues in movies and dramas are scripted. And also you need to know about the plot of the movie or serials in order to understand what is going on.

      • ptholome/Antonio

I agree, and we don’t need to worry about it. I watch a movie without pretending to understand everything, I only watch it and see the improvement I’ve done. Usually I see that I know nothing yet. :) though I understand a bit more than before but not enough… Besides it is boring g to learn English from movies because there is not much dialogues on them which is normal: It’s a movie!

      • Jack

Antonio Sir, understanding fast talking natives and movies/ dramas without subtitiles is extremely difficult. This is one of the reasons I don`t watch movies. :)

      • ptholome/Antonio

I watch them as a part of my learning… more like a test but without making any effort, I understand easily or not. I mean I don’t stop the movie but look at it until the end.

      • Nick

Do the same with films, very rarely stop it to look up an unknown word.

      • Cat

… and do the same with books — don’t look up each word, unless it appears every now and then and that means it’s an important word and you have to look it up and try to memorise it somehow. :)

      • Nick

        Good advice!

    • Nick

Luke has already explained it. Also I acknowledged that often in films dialogues sound more quite than other sounds. That annoys me a lot!!!

    • Cat

Henrique, yep, it’s sometimes so hard to follow movies — I often put the subtitles on. I think it’s okay, because we’re still learning! Just be patient, someday you’ll understand everything. And don’t forget, that even in our first languages we don’t understand a 100% (at least, I don’t, you see, cats brains are pretty small). :))

  • Alice

Hello! Luke:) How are you? I’ve been listen your podcast for over a year. It helps me a lot on pronunciation!! My accent is tent to British more than Australia now (I spent 2 years there). Thank you indeed!!!

Recently I’m helping my niece to improve English in order to get a high mark in exam and become more confidence. What about you?

      • Jack

Nah bruv, havent played games in ages

Good to see that you still play, i might get started playing as well :)

      • Nick

If you’re gonna start you should start with something good though… hell of a choice ;)

        Standard american or rp

      • Nick

I don’t know, I like American accents and British too, British ones sound more colourful for me, they have more undertones in sound. What’s your favourite accent, Jack?

      • Jack

I can`t stand that very upper class posh accent – feels like money is flowing right out of the mouth.

My favourite is estuary / cockney and offcourse the ali g accent. :)

      • Nick

Can you speak with these accents?

      • Jack

        Nah I can`t :(

      • Nick

Yeah, one of my English teachers was so thrilled every time I was saying something :)) She used to say: “Смотри кто идет, это Ник, Hi Nick!”
It was a bit strange for me in that time when somebody called me Nick.

      • For me it’s just an example of how he’s a terrific story teller. It’s both funny and sad.

      • Nick

Do you mean Louis? Yes, he’s a master of telling stories and his jokes often on the verge of what’s appropriate and what’s not and he’s not scary that people can understand it in a wrong way, I appreciate this in him.

    • Cat

Alice, welcome to the Wonderland number 6! ;)

      • Alice

Thank you! Seems you guys having fun!

      • Nick

Yes, too much lightning even from a pictured Sun.

      • Jack

I am very sorry for that.

Should I delete the picture ?

      • Nick

NO! It’s a great picture! Full of red light it reminds me about my beloved red planet :))

      • Jack

Yeah Mars – It is so calm with no hustle and bustle of people. Its quietness tells you a story :)

      • Nick

It’s a reminder what we can do with our own planet…

      • Jack

In a good way or a bad way ? :)

      • Nick

Eh… in a bad of course I don’t want Earth to be the next Mars.

      • Jack

Global Warming is definitely something we should think about.

      • Cat

Just think of all the polar bears who will be homeless and be dead-drawn… :(

      • Jack

        It saddens me Catherine :(

      • ptholome/Antonio

we are thinking and acting about it since the scientists discovered the Ozone hole… but even before that though it was related to the energy saving… but the two are related…
