[Website post] I was on the Rock & Roll English Podcast again / New Premium episodes coming throughout February

Dear website visitors and email subscribers,

This is not another new episode of the podcast. It’s just a newsy message from me to you, but I do have some audio to share below.

I was on the Rock & Roll English Podcast again

Do you remember Martin Johnston and Dan the Man from episode 490 of LEP? They’re the guys from Rock n’ Roll English – another British English podcast for learners of English. I was featured in one of their episodes in 2017 and we talked about awkward social situations. Do you remember that? Check this old post from the archive to jog your memory.

Anyway, this week I was featured in a new episode of the Rock n’ Roll English Podcast with Martin and Dan and we talked about more awkward experiences. There was lots of ridiculous talk of Dan & Martin’s rocky relationship, having threesomes, nightmare children’s parties, giving up your seat on the tube, embarrassing toilet-related shame, holding the door open for people, poo smells (yes) and more. It was a lot of fun and you can listen to it below.

In the episode you’ll hear that Martin describes me as podcast royalty (I’m flattered) and there is quite a lot of swearing and references to disgusting topics, all of which are quite typical for RnR English episodes.

Martin and Dan have kindly provided a transcript for this episode completely free. Download link below.

New LEP Premium Episodes arriving throughout February

If you’re an LEP Premium subscriber you might have been thinking “Where are the Premium episodes for January, Luke?” Yes, I missed my uploading deadlines for January, but to compensate for that I am going to upload plenty of premium episodes this month.

I’ve been doing plenty of digging for language and I’ve come up with LOADS of vocabulary and grammar to teach you. All of it has appeared in episodes of LEP over the last month or so, just naturally in conversations I’ve had and things I’ve said. Let’s now consolidate it. I will help you to learn it properly and add it to your active English.

I’ve already published part 1 of a series about language from episodes 569 & 570. That was my conversation with Zdenek. I created a list of over 40 language points from that episode, with some grammar and vocabulary that you should know and use. That will be Premium episode #10, which will be a short series as usual, with memory tests and pronunciation drills.

I’ve also collected target language from the episode about Paul Chowdhry (575) and my conversation with James (576). You can expect premium episodes focusing on them coming later this month.

All in all that’s a wealth of language learning opportunity coming to Premium subscribers this month!

If you want to become a Premium subscriber it just costs you a small amount per month. My prices are very reasonable, as you’ll see! It’s equivalent to just a coffee or beer every month and you get all the premium episodes so far and all new ones that are published, plus PDFs with extensive notes and tests. For all the details, go here www.teacherluke.co.uk/premium

There will be slightly fewer normal episodes of LEP in February

There will just be a couple of episodes of free LEP this month. This is because I’m focusing on the Premium subscription. But there will still be some free episodes. One upcoming free LEP episode will be a collaboration with Jen from the English Across the Pond podcast. I recently had a fun conversation with her about UK vs US English and we tested each other on slang from our countries. That’s coming soon…

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my appearance on the Rock n’ Roll English Podcast and that you consider becoming a Premium LEPster.

Thank you as ever for listening to my episodes, leaving comments on the website, sending me emails and generally keeping the dream alive.

Expect more content coming in 2019 – both free LEP episodes and language-focused Premium ones.

Speak to you on the podcast soon. But for now…

Bye bye bye….

Luke
